Women to Watch 2020: transformation of paper
into complex works of art

Women to Watch 2020 (WTW2020) is the sixth installment of the exhibition series at the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) that features emerging or underrepresented artists from the states and countries where the museum has outreach committees. It will be presented at the Museum from mid-June through mid-September of 2020.

The New Mexico State Committee worked with curator Laura Addison from the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe to nominate these five talented artists for WTW2020:

Mira Burack
Alison Keogh
Katya Reka
Kate Rivers
Catalina Delgado Trunk

WTW2020 will focus on the transformation of paper into complex works of art. Paper is a ubiquitous medium that is made from a variety of materials, and the artists represented by the national and international committees will exemplify this variety of production. WTW2020 will demonstrate that paper is not always the overlooked support for drawings, prints, and photographs, but instead a medium in and of itself.

Watch for the announcement of which of these New Mexico women artists will represent our Committee at WTW2020!
