NATURE IS THE GREATEST INFLUENCE THAT COMPELS ME TO PAINT. COLOR, LIGHT, FORM AND THE INTENSITY OF THE MOMENT ALL INSPIRE ME.
WHEN I PAINT I EXPLORE THE VISUAL,THE SPIRITUAL AND THE SENSE OF PLACE. AS EACH PAINTING EMERGES THE COMBINING OF THE SUBJECT, COLORS AND MY EMOTIONS INTERPLAY TO BECOME THE QUALITY THAT BRINGS ME JOY IN PAINTING.
I have loved art and artists since my first grade art teacher introduced our class to the wonders of art through images from the National Gallery of Art. I received my degree in Art Education from Edinboro University, Pennsylvania. I have taught in public schools and given private art lessons. I have enjoyed living in different areas: Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Delaware, Washington, and Hawaii.
I recently moved to Santa Fe, inspired by the skies and mountains of the Southwest. I have been involved in art/artist groups and galleries, learning from other artists and being inspired by the colors, landscape and people of each area. I enjoy painting in solitude. Each work presents a unique challenge to be true to myself and create images that represent the beauty I see in the world. I thrive to explore harmony, light, color and the interaction of inward life and outward nature.
