Artist Statement

Art making is similar to map making. It is a way of exploring the world, both seen and unseen. I believe my personal interest in a new minimalism is related to a fascination with the idea of limitation. Within a framework of limitation lies the possibility of infinite variation. I start with a small idea in order to let it grow.

Landscape has become very important. My wandering eye captures the line between earth and sky. Recent themes and concerns: weather, growth processes in nature, geology and gratitude.
