Artist Statement

I make art because I believe art can add an enrichment to life and that it is a universal way to communicate ideas and feelings. The process of fragmentation and transformation is a recurrent theme for me. My concerns are with materials and how they relate to the idea of the work. I also work with book art, fiber art and found objects. I find that collage is a process that suits me, it requires planning but it is also a spontaneous and open ended way for me to work and can lead to surprises and the unexpected.
