An Afternoon of Fabulous Art, Jewelry and Shopping in the Stunning Home/Studio of Artist/Jeweler Alice Bailey
“Tea with Alice” was a special private event for members and guests of the New Mexico Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. On August 7th, 2019, guests gathered informally to tour Alice Bailey’s home and studio, where they had an opportunity to connect and network with other members and artists, see unique and wonderful art mosaics amid beautiful landscaping, shop for Alice’s jewelry at a special discount, and of course, actively support New Mexico Women Artists.
Before the event, Alice asked us not to reveal the most exciting and interesting part of her entire body of collected work. She wanted it to be a surprise for the guests. We can now reveal that the surprise was a marvelous section of mosaic in an upstairs outdoor landing, title “Alice on Wonderland,” her own take on events from the famous Lewis Carroll work.
Visitors saw a seemingly endless array of mosaic images and sculptures that Alice makes from crushed pottery and found objects. In the images below, you’ll see some of the marvelous mosaic and quite magical transformations that Alice conjures out of her endless imagination.
